We are looking for outdoor enthusiasts who would relish an opportunity to live in the midst of 6,600 acres of nearly untouched Montana wilderness. Our ideal candidates for both full-year and seasonal employment will be professional and committed to their job.
For seasonal employees, The Ranch requests a commitment between April 1 and October 31, although May 1 through September 30 variable timeframes will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Some successful seasonal employees may have the opportunity to work through the holiday season (end of year).
Candidates should have a strong luxury hospitality mindset, geared toward a Relais & Chateaux property and a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, of which there are only 118 in the world. Year after year, our most successful staff are those who are self-motivated, confident, good at multi-tasking and making conversation, and who, above all, show impeccable work ethic. The desire to work as a team and go above and beyond the call of duty when necessary is what makes our Ranch so special.
Room and board is provided to our staff. Breakfast is continental style and lunch is prepared for staff every day. Employees are responsible for their own dinners. Staff housing features a large kitchen/dining area that includes two state of the art industrial stoves, three refrigerators, a microwave, one freezer, washers/dryers and comfortable living space. There is a sizeable staff living room with TV, games and WiFi.
On The Ranch, everything is within walking or biking distance to and from the staff quarters. There is Verizon cell phone coverage and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Pets are not allowed on Ranch property.
Most employees arrive via local airports in Missoula or Butte, Montana. The Ranch at Rock Creek is located 20 miles from Philipsburg, Montana, a historical mining town with a small, but adventurous community. Employees will meet staff and guests from around the world and across the United States.
The Ranch at Rock Creek staff enjoys Montana at its finest. There is exceptional access to hiking, camping and backpacking in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness. There are plenty of chances to try new hobbies, such as horseback riding, archery, ice skating or sapphire mining. Southwest Montana is an excellent place for budding photographers, who will see some of the most diverse wildlife in the United States.
In addition, staff members will find themselves steps away from Rock Creek, one of the world’s only Blue Ribbon trout streams. More fishing access is enjoyed on Flint Creek and Georgetown Lake. If you love to fly fish, there is almost no better place in the world to spend a season. Just 25 minutes away, Discovery Ski Area is an alpine skiing destination that becomes a mountain biking mecca in the summer.
“The opportunity to work at this caliber of a luxury property with a dedicated and friendly team is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people who want to build their careers. Being a large part of the guest experience—making sure they enjoy their outdoor experiences, life on a ranch and the amazing food—is really rewarding. I have made lifelong friends. The view is pretty spectacular too.”
