The Blue Canteen is just one of the many perks of staying across the creek from the Granite Lodge. It is the perfect quiet spot for your morning coffee or an afternoon board game in the sun with friends and family. Duly named by its many blue decorations, from its blue wood-burning stove to blue silverware, and its selection of various goodies throughout the day, the Blue Canteen provides a coffee bar with baked goods every morning and numerous other beverages and snacks throughout the day. Whether you are staying in the Canvas Cabins or down by the River House, feel free to stop by the Blue Canteen for a morning fix before heading up to the Lodge for breakfast or meeting at the
Rod & Gun Club for activities. The Blue Canteen is also the location for the summer’s weekly burger BBQ. We welcome all guests to use the Blue Canteen as they wish – whether you stop by to relax after a long hike or choose to roast marshmallows in its fire pit.
New for the 2013 season, The Ranch at Rock Creek will now offer casual full-service dining at The Blue Canteen beginning in May. The outdoor grill, situated between the banks of Rock Creek and the fences of the corral, will be open daily from 7am-9pm. Greet the morning sun as it rises over the mountains with coffee and a warm morning glory muffin by the fire.
Walk from the range to lunch at The Blue Canteen for grilled Alaskan salmon and lacinato kale salad or a more traditional burger and fries. Before turning in after a long day in the saddle, come into The Blue Canteen for a rack of ribs or a hearty steak under The Big Sky. This canvas tent-style venue features indoor and outdoor fireplaces, seating for up to 30 guests, an open kitchen area with bar seating and a selection of Montana drafts on tap.
