Montana is located in the U.S. Mountain Time Zone. Thus, when it is noon at The Ranch, it is 11:00 a.m. in Los Angeles, 1 p.m. in Chicago, and 2 p.m. in New York City.
How is The Ranch different from other Montana guest ranches?
Unlike other ranches or luxury resorts, The Ranch at Rock Creek is truly all-inclusive. At The Ranch at Rock Creek, you can enjoy hiking, riding, fishing, and all of the other activities anytime you want . . . as much as you want. The only exceptions to our inclusive rate are spa services, off-Ranch activities, premium wine and spirits, and our 20% Ranch Fee.

The Ranch at Rock Creek opened in its current setup as a guest ranch in 2010.
How big is The Ranch?
Our maximum occupancy is 86 guests. This includes the use of each of our 28 accommodations: 9 rooms in The Granite Lodge, 8 luxury canvas cabins, and 11 private homes and other unique accommodations.
The Ranch is 6,600 acres, or 10 square miles, in size.
How do guests get around on property?
Bicycles are provided for each guest during their stay to get around The Ranch. Mountain bikes, cruisers, and children’s bikes are available.
We are happy to offer car shuttle services throughout the property by request.
Are you open year round?
Yes. The Ranch is open 365 days a year.
Does The Ranch allow pets?
The Ranch welcomes well-mannered, people-friendly dogs for a nightly fee of $50 per dog. Please be aware of wildlife when bringing pets.
Does The Ranch welcome children and families?
Absolutely. The Ranch has no age restriction and welcomes guests of all ages, including children. The Ranch is an exciting western adventure for the whole family.
What activities are available for kids?
Little Grizzlies Kids Club (ages 4-8): Children will get a comprehensive and unique introduction to the Montana outdoors. Daily programs feature activities such as wildlife viewing, arts and crafts projects, early settlers and cowboy history, sapphire mining, streams and ponds education, sledding and snow building, adopt-a-horse, lawn games, guided hikes and bike rides, pony rides, gold panning, chaperoned pool use, and story time.

We have car seats and cribs available for guest use. We also have one pull-behind bike cart for small children. We do not provide strollers or hiking carriers.

What is the dining experience like?
The Granite Lodge dining room features regionally-inspired ranch cuisine using local and seasonal ingredients. Menus typically feature Montana-raised beef, lamb, chicken, and dairy products as well as local, organically grown produce. Our chefs are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions and food allergies with advance notice.
The Ranch features several event dining experiences, including Chuck Wagon gourmet picnic-style dinners, Chef’s tables in the kitchen, dinner and a movie in The Silver Dollar Saloon, and private dining experiences upon request.
What wildlife do you have on property?
Moose, elk, deer, big horn sheep, wolves, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, eagles, and an array of birds are all at home at The Ranch.
What is the riding program like?
The Ranch features a renowned riding program with more than 78 head of horses. The program includes one- and two-hour trail rides, arena riding lessons, the art of horse communication class, carriage and wagon rides, and introductory lessons to pole bending and barrel racing (for experienced riders only). The Ranch also hosts a weekly in-house rodeo during the summer season.
What is the drinking age?
The drinking age is 21 and older for all guests. IDs will be required at the discretion of the bartender and service staff.

Packages may be shipped via FedEx, FedEx Ground, UPS, or USPS. You should allow up to five business days for standard shipping options. Please notify the front desk that you are pre-shipping so that we may have your luggage placed in the appropriate accommodation prior to your arrival.
What is the average length of stay at The Ranch?
While we do have a four-night minimum stay, we encourage a stay length of 5-7 nights in order to fully take advantage of all the activities and dining experiences The Ranch has to offer. We have several weekly events, including carriage rides, our summer rodeo, and unique event dining experiences, so staying a full week ensures that you will be able to participate in all of these activities.
Do you provide complimentary medicine amenities to guests?
No. The state of Montana does not allow us to give out complimentary medicine to our guests. We do, however, have a limited supply of non-prescription medication and first aid items available for purchase in the Mercantile.
The nearest hospital is Granite County Medical Center located 20 minutes away in Philipsburg, MT. In addition, many of our employees are CPR/First Aid certified, including two registered EMTs.
Do you have an on-site gift shop?
Our on-site Mercantile is open daily and features an array of high-end, western-style apparel, footwear, jewelry, accessories, and gifts.
